What is the symbolism of a Wiccan rosary? I'm making a rosary for a Catholic friend of mine and while I was searching for a crucifix, I noticed several parts for Wiccan rosaries. I understand a bit of the meaning behind the Catholic rosary, but I had no idea there were Wiccan ones as well. What do the different parts of the rosary mean in the Wiccan religion? Or is this sort of rosary used by anyone under the Pagan umbrella?
What part of the rosary are the "father beads"? A friend asked me to make a pink rosary as a gift for her niece and I found some metal rose "father beads" and thought they would be a nice addition to the rosary. I kind of assume they are the beads dividing the sets of ten beads, but I'm not sure.
How do i fully let god into all parts of my life? I love god, i love jesus, but when i say the our father prayer i need help in putting all of my emotions into it, i need help in letting god into all parts and aspects of my life. has any other catholic ever needed help like this? any sugggestions? as i pray the rosary i know jesus is there, i know that god looks down on us, but i need help letting him in. please
Is it weird for me to find comfort in the rosary? I'm an atheist. But when I was younger and got scared in the middle of the night, my mom would tell me to hold the rosary. Since then I've always had this thing about a rosary hanging over my bed to protect me or ocassionally carrying it with me to give me strength and offer protection. I know it's part of the catholic religion and I don't believe in god but is ok for me to do what I mentioned earlier?
Do You Have To Say The Rosary All At Once? To be more specific, is it okay to say one part at one time and the other at another time throughout the day until you finish the whole rosary? No sarcastic answers like the first two i got, please.
To Catholics about the rosary ...? Just a few things that I've been wondering. Can you pray a rosary without using the beads? Do you pray the whole thing every time, or can you just pray a portion of it -- and if so, when would you do one instead of the other? Is the rosary part of the daily prayer life of most Catholics? Do you prefer the rosary as personal prayer, or with someone else? And the thing I'm most curious about: What has praying a rosary done for you, personally, in your walk with Christ? (A note for my Christian brothers and sisters who don't like the rosary, whether based on Matthew 6:7 or some other reason; I don't happen to agree that this is always "vain" repetition, nor is it unbiblical, and it's certainly not idolatry. In any case it's not a salvation issue -- so whether or not someone, Catholic or otherwise, prays it isn't something worth arguing about, they either do or they don't, and if you think it's "wrong" then you don't. So in all charity, please park your objections if you can't actually answer the questions. Many thanks.) natkra09 -- isn't that the truth! Thanks, brother. Servant Leader, with all due respect, when we take it upon ourselves to tell someone they aren't praying the right way, it's quite possibly encroaching upon their relationship with God -- and we need to tread a little more lightly there. You pray as you are led, but let's not assume that what passes between someone else and God when they pray in another way isn't valid.
Where does the Rosary Come From? im talking about the rosary that all those catholic gangsters at my high school are wearing, and the rosary that is on the mirror of some catholic peoples cars. 2nd Part: Is It Supported by scripture.
Christians, do you truly know what the Rosary is? do you truly know what the Rosary is? Yes it is a great prayer; that I say 4 to 3 times a day. But what is it? you look at the mysteries of it and it talks about certain parts of the Gospel. The Joyful Mysteries. 1. The Annunciation 2. The Visitation 3. The Nativity 4. The Presentation 5. The Finding Jesus in the Temple. The Sorrowful Mysteries 1. The Agony in the Garden 2. The Scourging at the Pillar 3. The Crowning with Thorns 4. The Carrying of the Cross 5. The Crucifixion The Glorious Mysteries 1. The Resurrection 2. The Ascention 3. The Coming of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles 4. The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin 5. The Coronation of the Blessed Virgin Marry. The Mysteries of Light. 1. Our Lord's Baptism in the Jordan 2.Our Lord's Self Manifestation at the wedding of Cana 3. Our Lord Proclaims the Kingdom of God and Calls us to Conversion 4. Our Lord's Transfiguration 5. Our Lord's Institution of the Eucharist as the Sacramental Expression of the Paschal Mystery. The Holy Rosary. The Rosary is a devotion to the Incarnation of Our Lord and to His Blessed Mother. It is composed of twenty decades, each decade consisting of the Our Father, ten Hail Marys, and the Glory Be to the Father, and each being recited in honor of some mystery in the life of Our Lord and of His Blessed Mother. During each decade, we should call to mind the mystery which it is intended to honor, and pray that we may learn to practice the virtue specially taught us by that mystery. It is also the Summary of the Gospels. Did you not know? The Angel who appeared to Mary brought and made the Hail Mary. He said, Hail Full of Grace and then her cousin finished the prayer.
Having trouble understanding rosary announce the mystery part!!? I'm trying to learn the rosary and in all the steps online it says announce the first mystery. their are twenty mysteries! does that mean announce the whole joyful mysteries or just the first mystery of those mysteries. and how do you announce it?? thank you so much!!!
How can I use a rosary? (I am a Christian)? Hello, I purchased a rosary today and I am not sure how to use it. Can I use it for prayers or are there any other ways to use it? I am a Christian, just to let you all know. There is Jesus on the cross part of the rosary. Can I get it blessed or something, or do I just let it be? I purchased it from a gift shop in a mall in Canada, so I don't think they've been blessed. Thanks! The answers so far are great!
For Catholics familiar with the Rosary:Regarding the Coronation of Mary, how does anyone know that it happened? Since it wasn't an actual Earthly event that's historically documented anywhere, how does anyone know if it really happened in Heaven,as this part of the Rosary claims? I know about it because, quite often on the EWTN network, I watch and listen to Mother Angelica & the nuns recite the Rosary. Other than the heavenly coronation of the Virgin Mary,I think most of Rosary's prayers are basically scripturally sound, since most of them come directly from the New Testament.

Rosary Lasso and Arras during the Wedding Ceremony? Can someone please explain to me how to incorporate the rosary lasso and arras into the wedding ceremony? What part of the ceremony are they presented and how? I already have the rosary lasso and arras. My future husband is Hispanic and we want to have some Hispanic traditions in the ceremony. I can't seem to find information on how to use them during the ceremony... yet I have found plenty of information on the significance of them. Thanks! I am having a Catholic wedding in WDC. The priest is young and hasn't performed many ceremonies with the lasso or arras. I'm trying to find out more information so I can put together my program.

catholics? do you pray the rosary? how do you pray the rosary? I want to know but I don't know very well and I learn the old mysteries and now new version included more mysteries or they eliminated some parts or what's happen? how do you pray the rosary in your way?
I do not understand how to pray the Rosary? I am trying to become stronger in my catholic faith, and have always been interested in the Rosary. I'm not sure how you are supposed to pray, though. I'm under the impression that we can pray the Rosary if we need assistance in our lives (Trouble with a loved one, going through tough times, etc.) and Mary/God will help us. However, when it comes to the mysteries, we're also supposed to be meditating on those at the same time? I don't understand how we're supposed to be seperating ourselves into two parts while praying instead of giving our full attention to the prayer. I do hope that that made sense. Perhaps I've just been misinformed? I've never really been able to attempt the Rosary because I have had so much trouble with it, since I don't know much about the mysteries at all. Thanks for your help!
Praying the Rosary with the Mysteries.? I dont understand the mysteries. When I get to that part in the rosary, do i just say "the annunciation" or whatever. like what part of the mystery do I say? Do I read it all out loud? what do I say? Anyone have a good webstie with the catholic rosary mysteries on it? that tells you what to say? do I say all of it? one part of it? OMG SO CONFUSING!

The Rosary - How did you let go? Are the Rosary beads themselves useful? I am devasted to learn my faith in the Rosary is, yet another, source of misuse and symbolism. I have so many precious sets of "blessed" Rosary beads from Aunts & Holy Cities I cannot imagine they are meaningless now. I am referring to a part of Toings question "Why do Catholics believe: Question~ "Why does Catholic doctrine require one to repeat certain prayers while saying the rosary" God says "But when ye pray, use not VAIN REPETITIONS, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking" Matthew 6:7
catholics? help with the rosary? I pray the rosary but the old way but I know there are new mysteries since 6 years or I don't know but those mysteries part of the rosary are obligated? I pray the old way because when I did my first communion, they gave me a small paper about how to pray the rosary but I found there are two ways .. a I read in USA they start praying the sign of cross, the creed of apostles, the our father, three avemarias and the mysteri.. and in my country they start with the act of contriction, and other prayers and the end of the rosay.. I learned the fatima prayer and other prays the Salve Regina and the Letanies but I don't know them.. I told you this because I have attended rosaries dedicated to people who have died and they say the rosary for 9 days.. I want to tell.. soo the mysteries that are new in the rosary and obligatory and what is the right form of praying the rosary?
Saying the Rosary? So Vatican 2 kind of put down the Rosary in the sixties. It was considered a childish form of worship, and kind of lost favor. At the same time, in the fourteenth and fifteenth century, monastic living really gave rise to the idea of daily devotions and set prayers. How do you feel about the Rosary? Is it outdated, repetitive, boring, etc. or is it a valuable prayer aid, necessary to faith, a beautiful ritual, etc.? Is saying the Rosary still a valid part of the Catholic faith?
Why do people have a problem with the rosary? Why is there so much confusion surrounding the rosary, and asking for Our Lady's intercession. Many people disregard the rosary as being idol worship, which is not true. How can it be idol worship. Many people confuse the word worship with honour, and catholics only venerate our lady but we do not worship her on the same level as Jesus. Why do people not understand that the rosary is a way of asking Mary to lead us directly to our son Jesus (THE MEDIATOR) who then goes to go. Jesus is still involved, he is part of the rosary. The rosary is scripture based because it focuses on KEY events during Jesus's and Mary's lives, such as the crucifixition, the scourging of Christ, the Annunication of Gabriel to Mary. I just do not understand why the rosary gets criticised and why people slag off the catholic faith and make all catholics out to be mary worshippers which is so ridiculously far from the truth.

How do you pray the Rosary? The Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary is prayed according to different methods in different parts of the world. For example, in Italy it will usually include a litany at the end. In Germany you will sometimes hear a line about the mystery being prayed interjected into the Hail Mary. And… to my point… in the English speaking world you will not rarely hear after the Gloria following each decade the addition of a little prayer associated with Fatima: “O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy. Amen.” However, not everyone adds this. I, for example, do not. What I am curious about is… do you add the Fatima prayer when you say the Rosary? This may be in individual or public recitation.
Are the 15 Promises of Mary to those who recite the rosary true? "Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary shall receive signal graces." Is this REALLY part of the 15 promises? I'm not trying that, I already say variations of the Lord's Prayer. :) everytime I think I get what the Rosary is, something new like this pops up. :) well, if I'm "chicken" as you say, so is Chris. :) I didn't ask anything about being Christian or not, I said is this a promise. ^_^
What Exactly are the Prayers of the Catholic Rosary? More specifically is the Fatima prayer part of the Catholic rosary or not? As I learned it the Glory Be, Fatima, and the introduction of the mystery is stated on the cord/link between the last Hail Mary and the Our Father. However, Fatima is often left off. I was wondering was Fatima taken out of the rosary, was it placed in but never caught on, is it optional, or is it technically for rosaries to all souls but is usually forgotten? Prayer of Fatima Call: Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell Response: Lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy.

Can a potential convert to Catholicism begin praying the rosary before RCIA? I have done a bit of research about praying the rosary and have discovered that some great online resources exist that explain the prayers and the method very thoroughly. I am enthusiastic about trying to learn how to pray the rosary, and about purchasing an inexpensive rosary to practice my devotions with. My husband and I have recently started attending our local Catholic church, and I am working my way through the CCC, on my own, since the RCIA classes don't begin again until September. Is it considered inappropriate for a person with no formal instruction on the rosary to begin praying the rosary on their own, as part of their personal devotions? Actually there is a scriptural basis for praying the Rosary. The words of the Rosary prayers are taken directly from Scripture - "Our Father" and "Hail Mary", specifically, are quite easy to find in the New Testament. Check it out, it's very interesting!
rosary question? On the back of a rosary on the crusifix (spelled unsure) part there is a word that says something like Terra and another part and I am not sure what it means does anyone out there know if so can you help me????? thanks in advance...
Catholic questions. The rosary.? As I am getting older. (27). I am getting more and more interasted on my catholic faith. I was always raised in the church but over the past few months I have finally started to appriciate it. I want to pray the rosary. I got as far as the part where you are supposed to "meditate on the mysteries". What does that mean? It might be a dumb question but I really don't know what that means.
Catholics, would you wear a rosary around your neck as a necklace? I always carry a rosary and lately I have seen pictures of people who have been wearing them around their necks. I did some online research and discovered that there are even catholic stores online which sell rosaries with clasps so they can be worn around the neck. From what I understand, as long as it is not blessed, it is okay. I would like to always have my rosary so easily available, and it would be an expression of faith on my part. What are your thoughts, as a Catholic seeing this would you think it was sacreligious or an okay thing to do?
Getting rosary tattoo on my ankle? Hello, I am planning on getting a simple rosary tattoo on my ankle, and the part that goes on my foot just on the side I want to include Romans 10:15 which is passage from the bible that says: And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” A friend of mine said I was crazy and it's extremely tacky and it's so offensive to do so? I am very passionate about God, and i hate getting tattoos that don't have a meaning to them and for me this really signifies the relationship I have with god the only other tattoo I have is on my wrist and it's extremely small and dainty and it's my late fathers name. Thoughts? do you thinks it tacky? I understand the whole, You're body is a temple- but I've already gotten a tattoo. My Soul is still pure :)
how do you pray the rosary? im learning how to pray it but i keep getting distracted and thinking about something else then focusing on the right decade and what do you say and do when you get to the part were mary is on it..do you say the glory be or the our father?? any answers well help=)
Please join our rosary for world peace!? The questions get buried so fast that I am going to post this again to keep gathering people who want to commit to pray for peace. The world situation is getting scarrier and the political factions are making things worse by bickering. Prayer is a very powerful weapon in fighting evil. There are evil governments and leaders that want to kill us. We can do our part by praying. I am praying the rosary every day for this and so are several that responded to my last call, but I know God is pleased with any prayer you want to join us with. Thank you and God bless you all. Thank you all so much for your wonderful responses. I pray that all of our prayers going up together that God will intervene and the world will be a better place. Love you, and God Bless. Sorry, Will, but I am sure God will forgive it this time. Thank you c-f-k-ed, We do need all the prayer we can get and you are great. Thanks, Fireball2, All prayer is good if it comes from the heart, especially the Lord's prayer. God bless you. Terry S, Yes, Jesus is the way, Amen. For El Tibero, your right that monks used to pray that way, but the rosary is easier and just as good. Repetetive prayer is not bad because it shows faith. If you keep on asking even if your prayer doesn't seem to be heard, it shows that you believe that it will be heard, and it will eventually be answered because of your faith. Never give up. God bless you.
The mysteries of the rosary? I would like to know about the mysteries of the rosary. Sure, I have lists of them, but the problem is, for the most part, I don't even understand them! I know they're prayed on certain days, but I really and truly don't know what a lot of them reffer to, and therefor have nothing to meditate on! Can someone give me details about what each mystery means, and why I should think about it?
Help needed please....Explaination of Rosary beads...? Hi, I was just wondering about Rosary Beads. They are of great importance within Christianity and i would like to understand more about it so can someone please explain about it please.Especially the part about prayer. Thank you
my mum is against the rosary? ...I'm not, and I don't want to be...? I'm a protestant, and even though we don't go to church anymore, I bought a bible and want to start being a full Christian again. I decided to ask my mum for a rosary, but she is completely against it! she said "The rosary is for Catholics!" and I tried to explain that the catholics don't own the rosary, its a form of prayer, she also thinks that Catholics worship mary and saints, and I just want to say "You obviously know nothing about the catholic church!" I want a rosary, and I don't want to be part of one particular denomination of Christianity, I want to be classed as a CHRISTIAN. Help!
Rosary question? I'm learning how to pray the Rosaries but my instructions leave out one part and I was wonderinf if anyone would help. After the first three hail Marys the next bead is supposed to be when you announce the first devine mystery. But in the example it gives mondays... so does that mean each day of the week its going to be different? If so what days are what mystery, thank you
The Protestants of this small Country Is the Lord's Prayer Solely Catholic? Dear Protestants from this small country, please allow me to clarify this as according to your Sola scriptura ("by Scripture alone") is the Lord's Prayer (of St Matthieu/Matthew 6:9-13 and St Luc/Luke 11:2-4) with Rosary or Prayer Rope Solely Catholic and Eastern Orthodox? Is the practise of this not part of your religion belief and teaching? Your valuable opinions and comments please. Thanks you.
Christians-i have more questions about the rosary? I have more questions about the validity about the promises given by what claimed to be Mother Mary at Medjugorje or Fatima or somewhere where she said reciting the rosary would receive certain things. If the rosary is biblical & the 'apparition" was really the real Mary then why doesnt the Catholic church just them make it part of their offfical doctrine instead of being "wishywashy/ambiguous" about it & basically saying, "here, you discern for yourself" On the other hand,if it was deception & not true Mary them what would be the purpose of "her?" saying to do a thing which appears biblical ie:contemplate on Jesus life using the rosary? Wouldnt a "pretend" Mary(eg:from satan & not from God) instead want to point away from reciting the rosary & want to bring people further away from jesus & not closer? At the same time though,i have real doubts about the things "she" has promised to those who recite the rosary particularly the lines 11 & 14. Line 11 confuses me because how can mother mary promise to give anything-only God can? and Line 14 confuses me because isnt anyone that "believes on Jesus" a son & bother to Jesus regardless of whether they recite/believe in rosary or not? Thanks ROSARY The fifteen promises of Mary to Christians who recite the rosary: 1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary shall receive signal graces. 2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary. 3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against Hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies. 4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means. 5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish. 6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God and become worthy of eternal life. 7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church. 8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces; at the moment of death, they shall participate in the merits of the saints in Paradise. 9. I shall deliver from Purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary. 10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven. 11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary. 12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities. 13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire Celestial Court during their life and at the hour of death. 14. All who recite the Rosary are my sons, and brothers of my only Son, Jesus Christ. 15. Devotion to my Rosary is a great sign of predestination. Thanks John-i was with you until you got to explanation of the line 11 bit & the "obviouslys" etc. There is nothing "obvious" about this neither to catholics or other christians. To infer that thats what she meant means that you have to rationalise and mindtwist & say "well, maybe she meant this etc but there is certainly nothing obvious about it. Anyone can say ANYTHING and someone say "well this is really what the meant"-there is many twisting & brainwashing in the world is you have to discern. Its not "obvious" in those verses that she meant that as there is nothing in those verses that says disclaimer:"well,i really mean by going through God of course" so those verse do not imply that themselves. On the otherhand,if those verses are just someone elses words resummarising what she said but you have a link that says her actually words & in her actually words she makes it more clear that she means by going to God to get the prayers answered etc then i would appreciate it if you give me those links please. Thanks Thanks Catholic By choice-but your assumptions of "anticatholic" in my voice hurt me because i am a Catholic actually! I still think your meant to discern regardless of whether catholic or other.Blind loyalty can lead into deception-true? John again-your point about Baptism is good though. At the same time though,do you know why does catholic church accept fatima but not medjugorje?
Protestants: The Rosary An Idol?? How ever on earth can you think the Holy Rosary is an idol, when it is clear that it is and has been part of apostolic tradition for 700 years, many miracles have been wrought by it (but notice these are only in the Catholic church, which uses it and NOT in the Protestant/Reformation churches that don't use it), it trains the mind on God's grace through Christ, and brings to the heart peace and faithfulness and all good fruit?? PS: When you answer say what you believe the Rosary to be. I want to know if you even know what it is to begin with.
